Samozrejme jedni tvrdia, že výstavba je dôležitá pre rozvoj mesta, druhí sa ohradzujú tým, že sa zaberajú "zelené plochy". Samozrejme ani jedno tvrdenie podľa môjho skromného názoru nie je správne. Výstavba, rozvoj, rekonštrukcia - to sú potrebné nástroje na to, ako udržať mesto v chode, nezaspať na vavrínoch, a kráčať s dobou. Ale treba to za každú cenu ? Treba si uvedomiť, že Dolný Kubín, tak ako ho hlavne dospievajúca časť populácie nepozná, bolo kedysi jedhou dlhou ulicou, tiahnucou sa prakticky celým dnešným koridorom od Baniska až po žel. stanicu. To sa však v minulom storočí rázne zmenilo. Investície ako OFZ, ZVL a pod. spustili monzúnové obdobie dažďa a so štipkou socializmus začali vyrastať paneláky ako huby po daždi. No už vtedy malo mesto nejaký koncept ( k tomuto konceptu stále zhromaždujem informácie a dokumentáciu - je to však nesmierne náročné, preto treba vyčkať). Kubíne medzičasom začali výstavby (Tesco, Lidl, Kubínske terasy, kruhový objazd, Zlatá jeseň, Aquarelax) a mesto dodnes nepredstavilo žiadnu architektonicko-urbanistickú víziu. Kvôli rýchlostnej ceste R3 nám viazne územný plán, a tak sa stavá čo chce, kde chce. Na mňa to pôsobí ako kopa plechu, skla a betónu. A to nevravím o hroznej doprave, parkovaní a podobne.
